Developing and maintaining trust is a critical trait for leadership. Yet it can be fragile, particularly when times are tough. Choices made based on a leader’s anger or fears are usually at fault when trust breaks down. When you seek out such common ground, people sense you are doing the right thing, and it inspires them to do their best work. If trust is in question, take a look at the values underlying your choices, and ask yourself what needs to change to reflect the greater good.
